Light Meter

CaptureA light meter is “an instrument for measuring the intensity of light, used chiefly to show the correct exposure when taking a photograph.”

When using a light meter is will either have a lumisphere or lumigrid. The lumisphere is used to incidental (close-up) and the lumigrid is used for reflective (far away).

The ISO must be unified with the film used. To change the ISO you must hold down the ISO1 button and use the dial to change it to the necessary ISO.


When shooting with ambient light the sunshine symbol needs to be selected. When using open flash, select the lighting bolt. And corded flash the lighting bolt with the C next to it.

[ T ] = shutter priority
[ F ] = apertured priority
