Overall, I really enjoyed working on more personal images, things that I choose to take photographs of because I want to, rather than to follow a certain brief. However, I feel I could’ve done better if I hadn’t left it too late to take pictures, and I should’ve kept in mind shooting in RAW when taking images so that they can be used, as I felt I took images throughout the project but didn’t think to shoot in RAW or use them for this project. From now on I’m going to make sure I shoot my personal images in RAW, just in case I want to use them in the future.
In conclusion I think that my images are successful, but the series could have more variety, or to follow a certain theme so that it flows consistently. It was interesting to take images I hadn’t thought of taking before, for example the images from the chocolate festival. I’ve never really focused on food photography before, so it was fun to try something new and to push myself to approach people and ask if I can take photos of their food. It was also fun to shoot portraits with a 50mm lens, which I think created a great DOF and made the images very sharp.
